Listening to every heart

Never, Always

I'll never be a copycat
I can't even remember
what I wrote
neither line for line
nor note for note
I'll never be a copycat

but never will I let it go
for always it will breathe my soul

sometimes it's where I'm at
that surprises even me
I look around
and up is down
feet hit the ground
sometimes it's where I'm at

but never shall I stop this write
but always hold to it quite tight

then I find me meeting me
on my way out the door
in my car
in the store
if I think I see me on the street
then I find me meeting me

               never shall I be dissuaded
tho always seems my thoughts are raided

I'll never think my words are good
perhaps mediocre,
knock on wood
perhaps an adequate
and would if I could but
I'll never think my words are good

never shall I quit this ink
always there's a thought to think

I'll always think yours are better
each and every little letter
each and every way you twine
for each and every little rhyme
wishing they all were mine
I'll always think yours are better

never shall I quit my reading
               always seeds are forever seeding

I'll always encourage you along
for I'll never be a copycat
sometimes it's where I'm at
when I find me meeting me
I'll never think my words are good
I'll always think yours are better
I'll always encourage you along

never shall I give up on me
always shall I look up to thee

This is why so often I look forward to tomorrow so that today I can say the yesterday was as special as the day that tomorrow actually became today.

Sounds like you wrote this one for me looking up to you.  One day, I will find a path that will allow me to write NEAR your talent and that is what keeps me going.

Excellent write.

Karilea,
I love the way you think and write, Your pen will never run dry. Your mind is too rich in creativity, and your words flow so smoothly. I think some of these verses were written for me

"I'll never think my words are good
perhaps mediocre,
knock on wood
perhaps an adequate
and would if I could but
I'll never think my words are good"

You have been an inspiration

Karilea--when you meets you on the street, 'twould be so neat, to greet ...and say how sweet you write, my dear, have cheer.

I love the way you write...your pen so creative, so sunnily sedated...and one day I would like to meet both of you, to get a clue of how you do....it.

"I'll always think yours are better"...yep, yep, yep!  Reading my mind you are. No matter what I write, all the others I read are better...'tis a humbling experience.

Enjoyed the lightness and the deepness in this ...

Hi Sunshine,

A very nice read, and well done. Never thought of things that you have written, you sure have said a lot here.

Dear Karilea: Pefectly lovely. and isn't it amazing that I feel the same way. I think your poetry is perfectly excellent, and mine very mediocre. we are our own worst critics, I suppose. Love, Ellie

Is the apple better than the orange? - better poet - who? I for one say Karilea's poetry may be equalled - but never surpassed

are the poets
I look up to...
and all of you
