The snow falls…
like so many dreams
crushed,
falling
   falling
d
o
w
n
until the sky is clear.
They blanket the earth,
a virginal blanket of despair.
So beautiful, so cold,
a desolate wasteland.
Once soaring high, they rained,
fell
   fell
        d
           o
              w
                 n
and now we are cleaning
up the mess the dreams
have made.
We rub salt into
the weeping wounds
burning
like the salt tears
falling
   falling
d

w

What pain expressed here, PoeticEnchantress!  But, you have done so excellently.  Great images!  And, I've got to say, that's quite a signature, too.  Wow.

Wow... this piece really touched me. Although most dreams fall, some of them are carried on by the wind of fate, and they fall into your lap. Thanks for sharing.

This is very clever!  The presentation enhances the theme perfectly, and the pain and loss is expressed so well.

I love the lines:

"we rub salt into
the weeping wounds
burning"

Wow!

Take care,
Melissa

PoetEnchantress~

'They blanket the earth,

This is stark pain, falling in abundance -
May the warming come soon.

Your kindasorta'

hard to find... This one is a bit tearful. My advice is to get a new outfit, maybe a little  different make-up... hit the town with a can of spray paint (don't get caught) then come back and tell me what and how it felt...

Hehe, sorry, while this poem isn't my normal style... it's basically got the same theme.  I'm a cynical little brat, lemme tell ya!

A new twist on a blanket of snow
I could feel the pain and dispair in your poem
Very well done
