She strolled through the park with her parasol
remembering the moonlit nights
she remembered a special man
a memory of a young woman in love
thoughts of him made her feel beautiful
the man whom she never forgot
the man who had engraved their initials
in the tulip tree in the park

The thought of him made her feel young again
a whisper serenaded her soul
she could still hear his whispers
in  graceful branches of  tulip dreams

She walked alone in their secret place
in the park of four lobed leaves
there is where she felt close to him
her eyes tracing initials
upon the memoirs of old red bark
a sentiment of young love
carved once in  young bark of gray

The tulip tree grew taller
grandeur each year
savoring their forbidden love

Her long hair once strawberry blonde
now long but sugar cane white
showered by sunlit flowers
sharing liveliness of springtime
the springtime of their first kiss

Love in the nakedness of Winter
overlooking footprints in the snow
walking towardly and away
the tulip tree of memories aglow

The breath of her heartfelt kiss
upon her fingertips
like a butterfly upon a cloud
airy branches lift and kissed
beneath  the marvel of the tree
the prism of her tears
frame initials permanently

Her frail hands held the parasol
standing on her tip toes
her arms stretching above
in the autumn of her reminisce
touching the initials with her parasol
remembering his sweet kiss

Golden-orange flowers
a pirouette ballet
tip toeing through the air
never to dwindle away

Soft rays of sunlight touch
the midsummer of yesteryear
warming their love
within the grandeur of tulip tears

I love tulips. Every word is like a bloom.

Victoria~
Oh, my gosh -
I wanted to help her reach the initials ! !

You sure carried me along in this one, gal.
Nice stroll of nostalgia.

Wow, that was a beautiful tale.  I hope one day I will be able to look back and see such love in my past as the character did...
