I tread lightly on the path to your heart;
All that is you I hold dear.
Only my love to you will I impart;
In your time of need, this soul will appear.

The beating of your heart is my only desire;
I'm losing sleep for thoughts of you.
This passion will take us higher;
And all I try to do is an explanation construe.

Right here next to you is my dwelling place;
There's nowhere else I'd rather be.
I'm not giving up this chance for your embrace;
With this, my love, I'm sure you'll agree.

All I want in this very moment in time
Is to be here, by your every breath entranced.
These memories will remain sublime;
Always will I remember how closely we danced.

Very nice, I especially like the last stanza. Memories can be sublime, yes..

(sigh) Such a lovely poem, yes, I can relate to this feeling, for I too am lovesick in the longing for love. You will find that love, my friend! May love and light always shine upon you!

I know how it is to lose sleep believe me but some things are just worth it and love sure is one of them.  This was a wonderful write my friend.  You express your heart well and that is how I know that you must be cherished by your love very deeply.  Now let's hope you can put this kind of emotion in your poem for the "CARDINALS"

nope....I am not going to let up on that one til the day you have to write it.

Thanks, Mark, for your wonderful replies.  You know they are always so encouraging to me.  Especially being new at this rhyme thing.
Oh, you poor thing.  You are going to have to wait quite some time, m'friend.  I'll get ya a Snickers ('not goin' anywhere for a while?')  I know, I know--corny.  It's late, what do you want?  LOL
