(You are) The Music Of My Heart

I don't need to hear the rhythm of the guitar
To hear you strumming my heart from afar
I don't need to feel drums pacing the beat
To feel the racing of my heart to love's retreat

I don't need a synthesizer to mix the tune
To have my heart dance to passion's moon
I don't need a keyboard to tap out the song
To know that with you is where I belong

I don't need a saxaphone to bring romance
To know that you are worth taking a chance
I don't need a trumpet to sound out the call
To know that for you ... my heart took a fall

I don't need music printed out on a sheet
To know how to dance to our desire's beat
I don't need a song on some billboard chart
To know that you are the music of my heart

Some of the most dramatic symphonies occur without a single instrument being played, keyed, struck or plucked. They magestically crescendo from poems orchestrated as lovely as yours.

Bravissimo!

Oh, MarkB~

It doesn't seem that long ago -
that you came upon this scene -
The tunes you've played,
upon this heart
have meant the world to me.

And in your gentle friendship,
I've found your hugs have held
my heart when there was need,
to be captured in your spell.

It is within a loving heart
that I hold you near -
For all that you are to me
is held so very dear.

Love you, sweet serenading cowboy.

Kathleen-Thank you so much for allowing me to read so much wonderful poetry from you and for always leaving me such endearing replies to my works.  You are one of the reasons it is so nice to be a part of Passions.

Cathy-Thank you sis for always encouraging me and making me feel special.

Karilea-Well, I don't know if I am aging as well as a fine wine but I will accept my poetry doing so if it ever does. Thank you so much.

snowpants-Well my friend, I am glad that you feel it is a keeper and I assure you I will also keep the poem you write at the end of baseball season giving tribute to the Cardinals.   Thank you for being such a wonderful part of my first 5000.

Kit-If I could start your morning off with a smile then I am happy to know that I gave you just an ounce of the happiness back that you have always given to me.  Thank you for being so sweet and special to me here and for always spoiling me with your wonderful replies to my challenges.

Charisma-Thank you so much for all that you do my friend and for never letting a day go by without passing on a smile and plenty of inspiration.  I could never tell you how much I appreciate it but know that I do.

chansondegeste-Wow....thank you for such a wonderful comment and for making my time here so memorable and happy.

Martie-You are one of the ones that I owe so much to in both inspiration and friendship and I thank you for allowing me to enjoy so much of you in both your poetry and the little moments of caring friendship that will forever remain with me.

Victoria-Thank you so much for always being there with a smile.

spiked-Thank you much.  I am glad that you enjoyed it.

JCGF-Trust me.......the other 4,999 others are NOT all poems.  My muse would have died long ago if that were true.  Welcome to Passions and I look forward to reading plenty of your works.

Virginia-Thank you so much and I am glad that you were able to enjoy the feel of the emotions in it.

Sandra-Thank you so much for all you do and for making my time here so wonderful and meaningful.  I am not really singing this one to her YET, but I do hope that one day she will here the same tune that I do.

Gentle Spirit-Thank you and any ability I have in writing is due to my learning experience here at Passions.  Believe me, when I came here, I didn't even know what cadence was in a poem.

Noah-The sharing of the heart isn't really a much a part of this as is the dream that it will someday be but I do thank you for you wonderful comments and for stopping to read.

Marge-My friend, there is no way I could ever thank you for all you have meant to me and continue to mean to me and this beautiful reply you just left is one of the reasons why.  You have always given me support and inspiration and encouraged me to grow in my poetry and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

JM-Encouraging your works has never been a hard thing to do.  You have given me the most support of anyone here and well to tell you the truth of anyone in my life in alot of areas and I thank you for just being you and allowing me to be me.  I could not go through a day without your friendship and I hope you know how much I love having you as my BEST friend ever.

snowpants-Did you dye your hair?  No need to ever say you're sorry.......I hate that word you know.  Thank you again.

Melissa-I remember well when I came here and how nervous I was in posting my first few poems and you were always there to make me feel so at ease and comfortable.  I know that whenever I see you name on one of my poems that I am going to be smiling (and alot of times blushing) from your ever present encouragement.  I thank you so very much for being so supportive and so generous with your praise.  I means the world to me.

Mother_Earth-I don't know about being clever or I wouldn't still be dreaming of the day when these words could be shared with a special someone but I do thank you for saying so.  I know that one day, I will sing in silence to a very special person and I hope she knows that she is worth the wait.  Thank you dearly.

SEA-Thank you so much for bringing a smile to me on every post and reply.  You have a heart that never tires of giving and that is what makes you so special and so treasured here.

Saunni-If I have lifted your spirits even once then that alone is worth being here.  Thank you my friend and it is so nice to see you back again.  I hope that you will be able to spend more time with us.  You offer much to these walls.

Startime-Thank you so much for always bringing a smile and a caring word.

Holly-Thank you my dear friend...you know I always welcome your visits and cherish every word from you.  Thank you for always making me smile with your kind replies.  Yeppers, I am still singing the songs in my heart as I don't know how to sing any others. I am glad you like my new signature...it came from a reply I left on a poem.

Rosebud1229-If my pen allowed you to hear the music then I am glad.  Thank you my friend and might I say it is nice to see you again.

Coco-My friend, you have left me with more smiles than I could ever count and I thank you so much for that and for you.  I am honored to have even one of my poems in your library and even more so at the thought that you might even look one up in the archives.  Thank you once again my friend.

Classic romanticism from you is what I expect - and I'm NEVER disappointed. Easy to understand why you draw so many responses.
btw - I love the Eagles - and Aerosmith - but I know no names - but then they're not the Dixie chicks either  - I guess I'm the sexist ~G~

How I wish,
it were possible,
to know this,
your song.
But the music
you hear,
is but to your ear,
for from mine,
it's been so long.
but still,
I rememaber
the song.
