Carefully, she bit back words
That she knew she simply could not say
And she choked  on their venom
Understanding the pain they could inflict
Felt their power to destroy
And willed them to stop
At the tip of her tongue

SEA - Good girl!!!!!!!!!

Its better to choke on the words you hold back rather than try to take them back later.

Oh how words can hurt sometimes. I once did a childrens sermon on exactly this. I had one of the children squeeze out an entire tube of toothpaste into a tin pie plate and then asked two other children to put it back in the tube with a spoon and a knife. Wehn they were unable to, I said that is what happens when words slip out of our mouth. When we say things that hurt other people, it's too late to put them back.
Great poem !!

SEA,

Sometimes the silence says it all for us.  I know it isn't easy to keep quiet though!
Nice writing.
