I put this here for anyone who has ever been afraid to get to know me...I also know that my true friends know me no matter what name I choose, and I am thanking them all for that honor.

Only by my name,
Do you know me,
Thinking that I've come to trap you,
And lure you into me,
While you scream in mock disgust,
That I'm trying to trample,
Your well tamed will,
When all the while,
In innocence that has lasted,
Since my first and last lesson were learned,
I've merely sat here,
Drained but branded forever by a name.
So please stop saying my name,
Over and over again to me,
Taunting my weakened spirit even more,
By suggesting,
That the only reason you can see me,
Is because I seem to be so alluring.
I'm not your seductress,
Your willing pleasure goddess,
Come to test your brute strength.
I am only what once was,
And partially done at that.
So please stop using me as your excuse,
To explore the waters of temptation,
When you have explored the seas,
For many years,
And I am but one small waterless island,
That you have just been washed up on.
This name is but a shroud,
That easily slips away if anyone cares enough,
To lift it and take a chance,
On what is truly underneath.
So please don't ignore my words anymore,
Running scared because you think,
I'm trying to trample you well tamed will.
I'm not your seductress,
Your willing pleasure goddess.

Jennifer. . .

This is some of the finest I've seen from you. . . perhaps it's time to come out from behind the name. . . ah, but you already have. . . it's in the words. . . it's always been in the words. . .

Excellent. . .

Oh I'm glad I read this before I leave on an extended trip..   You know, I used to be considered a love-goddess but I am smiling a bit again, just a bit.  I liked this, I'm sorry I didn't get to know you temptress!!!<  By the way, sometimes it's hard to pick a screen name but I love yours!signature-->

Temptress,
a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, likewise it's the write that's important and sweet no matter what name you choose.
write on

Walt,
Anyone else who knows how I'm feeling is an honor to have reading my work.   Thank you.

SEA,
I am very glad you enjoyed this, and thankful that you took the time to read.

Sven,
Usually its the name people see before the words..then they go..OHHH, so thats NOT what she's all about. Even though few say it, I can sense it.  I know I've made my bed so to speak, but I'm not willing to give it up. It has its advantages for setting the mood for other writing, but when people start to back off, I can sense it. Thanks for reading and taking the time for me.

Irish Rose,
I hope your trip helps you rest. Take care, and don't worry, if you've ever read any of my work (and you have) then you may know me already.  As once a few very wise friends told me, Take care of you.

Kethry,
Thank you, is all I can say.   just...Thank you.

Can I be your willful breeze,
Come to touch,
Your heart to ease?

One of the few who knew me before me.   Thanks for taking the time to read, Dear Friend. Of many, I know you understand. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Marsha,

Hello, I don't think I have posted on any of your poems and I don't know why!  This is very true. A name, once given, is hard to live up to.  I will be checking out your work from now on.  Hugs to you,  ME
