Anticipating Martie

she grows us green
and like tender buds of spring
                                                keeping up the good search
she allows us to grow
encouragement and watering
showing and showering
having a whistle type of day
so delicious
the scents she cultivates…
                                               in pausing to think

sometimes she is
Eliza Doolittle to me
for I hear of flowers
and flower keepers
I've seen us both hold the key
knowing
she is a giver of flowers

then Martie comes to mind
with a bit of an accent
but oh so much wiser
                                               even when running on empty
and she paints
a moment like no one
I know… O…
                                                her poetry holds court
the good poets that are
here
all revere
our Martie

gently knocking, knocking
on blue
she keeps us rocking, rocking
anew
gently kicks us forward,
takes us to our knees
all I ask for, Martie,
are some more words, please…

string them, sing them
make them rhyme
show me distant
feel the time
walk with us and talk with us
on a ride with such a view

I haven't all the words yet
but some words do come to mind
if I were to compare us
I'd find me on the other side of her mirror
knocking to get out…

if I compare us…I don't

for we're deeper than you think

                    we're a chance meeting
for you to see the signs

                    we're a harmony unknown
                    in the words we sing

                    we're a chance meeting
                    for the gifts we bring

but
to always
breathe her words
walk her mind
be the song in her throat

oh, she grows me green
but jealousy has no place here
no…she grows me green as a bud
watering me
allowing me to grow
and shine

so I am watchful
and waitful
and grateful
in anticipating Martie…

And ... anticipatory I am.

Just a lovely offering of thought

I rarely finish a night of reading without making one of Martie's my final read because her rare talent to making all of life seem so beautiful even in the darkest of times ALWAYS brings me inspiration and peace but tonight I believe I shall finish with this one because it is written in the grace and the mastery of her boundless talents. Excellent write and one that is so very much deserved by one of our true "Legends to be".

WOW! What a stunning tribute to one of the most revered writers and certainly the most uniquely talented writer on passions, one whose mind does't stop to think, it already knows what others cannot see, she conjures up a notion that no one would ever concieve of and inserts it so naturally into a verse and it simply astounds you. It is a rare talent and you, Karilea have whitten a superb tribute which captures her essence. Thank you for writing this. It is so well deserved, I bow to both of you, two wonderful poet friends,
LOve you both

thank you Sun, for saying so eloquently what so many of us feel ...
she is a gift of poetry ... to poetry ...and us
she defines what it is to be a writer.
very cool poem and format here K,
very cool gesture and tribute

When to the sessions of sweet silent thought,
I summon up remembrance of things past ...
I sigh the lack of many a thing I sought.
