In the still of night
I hear your scream
The silence is shattered
By a frightening dream
Could it be real
Or just in my mind

Maybe it’s the ghost
Of things left behind
I lie there in a cold sweat
Heart pounding in my ears
Like a bass drum
Boom! Boom! Boom!

My breathing is short
Continuing on
Shallow yet deep
My pulse races
I feel many things
On this night

Fear
Loneliness
Anger
Anxiety
Heartache
Pain

None of them happy
Thoughts of wishes
Or rainbows leading on
To the tomorrow
That looms just ahead
Of the roadblock

Why is it so hard to see
On some days
Yet on others
It is plain as day
Beckoning to me
To move ahead

Dancing in the garden
Where dreams one day
Become my reality
Where contentment
Resides among the roses
Despite their thorns

Sweetie, this is poignantly lovely -

LW, this is an incrediblly inspiring write sweetie...
In matters of heart one may sometimes be weakened and not see the existance of a new path full of blossoms...
Yet to take those first few steps is the most difficult action to do, but in due time we eventually make those steps...
Gosh darn I can relate to your poem...
