Bartering for Life

Reaching the point where bottom is pit
And the low of the low is resting above
The skies are raining their torrent on mine
Wishing,  am I to  answer "what of"...

What of this world that promises one
Of rainbows, togetherness, days in the sun.

What of the hopes and dreams "they" portray
That seem within reach then just fade to gray.

What of, I ask, of whispers of kiss
Of times of loving in arms hold, I  miss.

Rainbow colored,  red, greened some blued
While I am a mixture, not solidly hued.

Down at the bottom, the heavens above
Drawing me to them with words of "what of"...

Sweeping the mentions,  the memories to dust
Leaving  me empty, with words to fulfill
"What of's" are gone, "what if's" to replace
Time is still ticking, while moments are nil...

Don't take these, my words, to mean any or all
They're letters of sighing, together in fall

As I tumble and twist in my nightmarish stay
Wondering, pondering the "what of's-if's" this day...

No answers forthcoming, I barter with time
"If only's" would trade me, each second to mine.

The minutes would hour, the days would outlast
'Til finally colors would brighten the past

And rainbowed ahead, once again skies would be
Reaching out, calling to barter with me.

Nakd,
I often hobnob with despair
By merely saying I don't care.
But those that see can see right through.
The petty of the hobnob rue.
You write well and I enjoy your work. Sy

ahhh....what wonderful things a strange mood can produce.

Do not worry at the doldrums we encounter in our writing life. Just enjoy the day doing other things that make you feel good.

"Rainbow colored,  red, greened some blued
