in this dark hour
hidden behind
the smile
pain reveals
the shadow
broken hearts
tenderness
and so much
anguish

life will go on
as it should
but there
will always be
a darkness
hiding the light
of what used
to be
blinding the heart
and crippling
the mind

blinding the heart
and crippling the mind

until the miracle
when a pure heart
selfless and giving
shall with a gentle look
turn the dark to light
and give strength
to useless legs

Someone will bring real light into your life someday, Sharon. Until then, hold onto the promise of this light. Beautiful words, my friend.

This is so sad Sharon
but beautifully said...

life will go on
as it should
but there
will always be
a darkness
hiding the light
of what used
to be

so true are these lines

great writing my dear

Such a sorrowful poem, yet beautifully penned, your words speak of my weeping heart tonight.

Take care,

Yes, there will always be shadows - may they only outline the brilliance in our words.

Most of us hold sorrow very deep within, but that selfsame sorrow can spawn joy. THat is what I always endeavor to find. And in the midst of sorrow, I can usually find some things to laugh about. It masks the pain, but it helps the spirit
