The Words That Betrayed Beauty

You’ve been gifted with a precious treasure
A pearl beyond price, a gift beyond measure
Your ability to use words as glittering stars
To entrap and enslave behind sorrows bars
You use your words like a master of your art
We should have been wary right at the start
But we’ve established a ring of protected fire
And our wings will defend from your desire

Those words that are written are beauty’s tool
To convince and degrade and our hearts to fool
Your use of line and superb form is poetic grace
Which you then use to dress lies in lovers’ lace
Those hearts that now lie crushed and so sore
Tell me are you going to pick them off the floor
Don’t you see the dishonour the tearing pain?
And for what is the purpose where’s the gain?

Together we’ll stand against your sordid game
For together our hearts and souls will stay sane
Our power is majestic and our words ring true
Truth is the only defense against a man like you
Your beguiling and mesmerizing words will fade
Along with the hope and the promises you made
All those who been captured we’ll set them free
With the power of fire we’ll halt this insanity

Your words those painted puppets will dance
Enchanting hearts with your poisoned glance
But truth has the antidote to clear sick hearts
Our fire will purge and purify damaged parts
Around those souls that have very nearly died
We’ll beat back assaults your lies will be fried
No longer will we allow beauty to be betrayed
No more will we see truths body being flayed

Your poetic flare is showing....and your growth and strength not only in your writing but your wisdom and courage are shining through...

Marsha...I will be keeping this one....to remind you how much you have stretched and reached...and how your wings are gilt in gold...

Lil sis, thank you as always, this is what I at the very least owe to my sisters of the phoenix. And I hope it helps all the others that have been caught. Take care love as always

Kari love, thank you dear heart, imp of mischief or sprite which? Well, whichever I still get my best wisdom passed on to me from my mentor love.
And I thank you for the praise, but that doesn't mean come Friday I won't be causing a rucus, and teasing you unmercifully love.
Take care

This is a very powerful piece, in fact is sure woke me up this morning and with the medicine I'm taking that's a hard thing to do!!!    Marsha, I love purple and I love your words.  I would love to be part of this phoenix you speak of.  I feel like an ash right now and I said that without cussin'!!!

Paula love, we know,   and that's all we need to do. Thank you love, for being the sister I'd have chosen if I could have done.
Take care love

Kathleen love, thank you sweetie, if it helps just one phoenix to rise then I'm content. Thank you love, you most certainly can join the phoenix phalanx flight
