Come Little Firefly
Virginia Salter

come on little firefly
light my heart
come on little firefly
give me a spark

set me afire
with your rhythmical blaze
give me a glow
that brightens the haze

that hovers around me
shrouding me in gloom
bring me the glimmer
that causes me to bloom

tickle my fancy
thrill me through and through
shine effervescent
beneath the harvest moon

dance on the vapors
that float on the breeze
pirouette the night glow
around and through the trees

then come to rest
on my palms raised to keep
your lovely glow in my dreamland
of the hours that I sleep

I've never had the joy of seen a firefly and I do so want to.

Oh this is so well penned, both fireflies and butterflies are so beautiful.  The flow, the rhyme, the melody within this poem was delightful    This is precious!  Please enter this in the next passions "Voices on The Web" book!

Take care,
Melissa

Truely a beautiful piece you have given us.  Personally I love the little things and love it when the yard is filled to the hilt with these little wonders.  When you see a work of God such as these then you know that there is always hope to be found.  Think he knew that when he gave them to us?

Fireflies are spectacular!! Just like living pieces of light to give humans something wonderful to watch and dream on......I think God knew we needed something to amuse us!!
Great writing here, my friend!!

Write on!
