Sonata Of A Starlit Sky

~*Marge Tindal*~

Just below the outer rim, the memories of you appear so dim
I try so hard to take it in, but it simply disappears within
Upon the edges of my heart thoughts of you so sweetly dwell
I am left alone as you depart, no more stories left to tell

Then upon a starlit sky, a memory of you goes floating by
Catching a glimpse of you once more, this heart begins to soar
Across the indigo night, memories of the past take flight
Fantasy of dreams long slumbered, upon a heart you wander

In the dreams of my making, just one more chance I am taking
Gathering wool of the day long-spent, spinning tales of merriment
Lost among the faded dreams, all our hopes, all our schemes
Trying hard to hold them to me, wasting time in sweet memory

When upon the pages long gone, memories lost in midnight's song
Playing out the fantasy, as you sing the last song to me

  Lady Marge,
"Edges of thy heart, so sweetly dwell"
is enough to cause me to breathe
a deep sigh, such beauty in thy words...
and thus, each night as you view,
I, too, view memories floating aloft,
sweeping me to dreams once more.

Thank you, for the lovely thoughts
    this day.

Beautifully penned~ The light flow, the rhyme, the unique expressions are all wonderful   Yes, visiting a memory can be so sweet yet also sorrowful, as this is how your poem read to me.

Take care,
Melissa

Well look who has been playing around with her poetry!!  My gawd woman.......this is by far my favorite of yours and that was no easy task to do.  I can't find one thing to pinpoint that I like best but I can tell you that when it is read aloud it is remarkable how it just seems to sing off of the page.  I am not real familiar with this style (I know...the workshop  ) but I love the rhyming pattern and structure alot.  Yeppers, in the library.  Just when I thought your Native American poetry would always be my favorite you come up with this one.

Just the 'workshop-of-my-mind', babe.
I actually parked this title on 11/27/99
and decided it was due for some body.
Thank you for letting me know it stands up and bows.
Shucks, if it's got a scheme, it was probably just a 'happening'.
I love ya', sweet poet.

Tracie~
Thanks, hon.
And .. yes, I knew ... and am glad
to know I was right.

Marge, I'm pooling through my library and this starlight sonata I just had to read again and I take this liberty to bring your poem back to the top as I've noticed lately in open 12 a theme of sorts developing...

So to perhaps save someone a dig back to the January pages they may now find this treat on the forward pages and can cherish this delightful read as I do...

A compelling title - (I HAD to read) and I am so gratified - I'm greeted by a sonnet - of such beauty - and thoughts - they wrap me like a warm blanket of sweetest music.
