Real Audio Killed the Poetry Star

I read you in a book from (18)52
Lying awake intent at reading poems by you
If I was numb it didn't stop you coming through.
Oh-a oh

They took the credit for your second tragedy
Rewritten by funk and punk rock newology,
and now I understand the problems you can see.
Oh-a oh

I met your biographer
Oh-a oh

What did you tell her?
Real Audio killed the poetry star
Real Audio killed the poetry star.

Microphones came and broke your heart.
Oh-a-a-a oh

And now we write in our fancy apartment studio.
We hear the beat and it seems so long ago.
And you remember the limericks used to go.
Oh-a oh

You were the first one.
Oh-a oh

Now they steal your best ones

Real Audio killed the poetry star
Real Audio killed the poetry star

In my mind your still a star, we can't be beatniks we've come to far.
Sound came and broke your heart, put the blame on Bill Gates part

You are a poetry star.
You are a poetry star.
Real Audio killed the poetry star
Real Audio killed the poetry star
Real Audio killed the poetry star
Real Audio killed the poetry star (You are a poetry star)
Real Audio killed the poetry star (You are a poetry star)

Heya Walt!

I thought in the matter of Parker, it was:

ten gallon hat killed the poetry star
ten gallon hat killed the poetry star
oh

oh
oh
oh!

Cor

Really cute idea, you are always full of originality!
