nothing, naught
is as it seemed
awakening
the silent scream
no longer sure
which is the dream
direct me to reality
and help me to remember ME...

and yes, the road was yellow, bricked
now dampened by my tears made slick
the tin man really has no heart
but oh, he's got an iron grip...

the scarecrow? he has lost his straw...
the lion has now been de-clawed,
Galinda is a bubble's burst,
the wicked witch? A fable's thirst
for but an ogre to be had...
The bad is good--
the good is bad.

Awakening
from poppies' spell...
lethargy
in which I dwell...
shadows mocking
dante's hell--
Oz was just a dream I had.

"no longer sure
which is the dream
direct me to reality"

I like the allusions in this piece.
Indeed its hard to distinguish the reality in things sometimes, but we must always hold onto what we knows real and keep strong.  Wish you well always.

take care,

And then she clicked her ruby slippers, and the dream was over..I always wondered why she did that...
Such an enjoyable verse, and pulling that eternal fantasy into it was just a wild stroke of genius
Love it.

You have said perfectly something I've been trying for ages to say.  Who knew it could be done in so few words?
Excellent write, serenity.  Enjoyed reading something that makes so much sense.  Thanks for sharing this.

Dorothy~
This is brilliant !

'the scarecrow? he has lost his straw...
the lion has now been de-clawed,
Galinda is a bubble's burst,
the wicked witch? A fable's thirst
for but an ogre to be had...
The bad is good--
the good is bad.'

lovely and clever bit o verse you've got there. i would've worked in a flying monkey, but then some people think i'm, well, strange.

"help me to remember me"
indeed. a lesson i had to reteach myself over the past few weeks.
the lesson continues. as does its success.
thanks for dropping the hint on me. (and the house.)
