Rigormortis of Did I

Did I promise you a rose garden
If I did I beg your pardon.
Did I promise you a valley"s green
That seemed to turn to quarantine?

Did I promise you a starry way
That turned into a dreary day.
Did I promise you a lovers dream
That dimmed in light and lost its gleam.

Did I promise you forever mode
And somehow seemed to break the code.
Did I promise you a single goal
A joining to a common soul.

Did I promise you a matchless kiss
That somehow seemed to go amiss.
Then I am guilty, guilty as sin
That our amour has grown so thin.

Well I lied to you because I knew
That life is not a dream come true.
But a mix of sear and clear and fear.
That pierces with a daily spear.

But I wear your love your favor fair
And am your knight if you still care.

You are indeed the Knight
in silver gleam and white
knowing that with all of might
you battled dragons for the right...

love it Sy....thank you!

Sy-babes..ya dipped your pen in wisdoms gold for this rhyme kissed poem of truth.
The long term reality of love is not all fairy tales, happy endings and dreams come true.
The true test is when respect and trust can withstand the years and reality of day to day living.
Very cool poem of honesty for the rose of your suppose ...
very cool indeed.

This is a beautiful and romantic gem of a poem, not what I expected from the title. I thought you were dying with those dragons, and yet it is a tender poem so beautifully expressed
I love it
