I walked through the cold dead
Cried on stones grown old
as the immortals beneath them
slept on heart and soul

I cried for i envy them
Those who sleep below
untouched by those who loved them
peace through eternal cold

The pain is so deep inside me
My heart is no less cold
than the immortals that sleep
  around me
or these that names that no-longer
  get old

I lie now as my mother does
In the arms that loved me true
So close to the past lost me
So far from loves bitter cold

I cry for the mother that bore me
I cry for the woman now gone
I weep for my only forgiveness
Lies under the dirt, Under the stone

Now i cry for the future denied me
for tombstone cast in stone
Here lies a man so lonely
Here lies a father of none.

Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer's gone, and all the roses falling
'Tis

This reads like a quiet keening, Walter. The longing to belong, and relate to another in a deeper, more profound way is quite evident here. I enjoy your work very much. Always touching and thought-provoking!
