The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2001-01-14 09:14 PM

When quiet tries to steal away my heart
and opens doors much better left untouched
I feel again this painful time apart
and question why it still must hurt so much.

I find myself seek chaos to forget
yet yearn for that so peaceful solitude
and days of dreams and loving him well met
before he so abruptly changed his mood.

He comes to me at times I least expect
invades the hidden corners of my soul
such moments cause my heart to yet suspect
that holding him was all that made me whole.

Tomorrow will remain a mystery
though life would show me happiness untrue
my memories contained in history
and hope a promise I cannot eschew.

Catalinamoon, this is beautiful...yet so sad. You have opened your heart in this piece so vividly that I can feel your pain. However, don't ever think:
'that holding him was all that made me whole'
...as all who read this can see, you are very much a whole person by yourself. Others add to who we are by lending to us pieces of themselves, but when they leave we keep the bit of ourselves they left us with. You are you by yourself, don't ever forget that!!!
Much love and hugs to you, keep that chin up

A lot of truth here Cat...trick is to listen to what our heart says...even when it's in argument mode...

Sandra.....
I'm glad that I didn't miss this poem full of your grace, beauty, and very tender heart.
Seeking chaos is a defense that we all use to help us forget the pain.  I wish for you an easier way to find a new love, my friend, and I wish for you much happiness when you do!!
