Outside the calm belies the storm within…
The deafening thunder, lightning flash, and roaring of the wind…
A smiling face to show the world that nothing’s going on…
While just inside, the storm is raging strong…

The storm begins with waking at the dawn…
When realization, mixed with truth, fight courage to belong…
They place themselves beside the door, that keeps them all at bay…
The door stays locked…the key stays hid away…

Those closest sense the storm and feel it’s course…
They know the power that’s held within, and see it’s raging force…
Destruction in denial looms upon each morning’s light…
Those closest make their stand, prepared to fight…

The storm that rages makes us who we are…
And though the howling winds and swelling seas are never far…
We hold their power inside our souls, to use as healing balm…
The storm within subsides into the calm…

Very powerful and emotional piece, Sunny! Yes, all our pain and sorrow will break up into the calmness of love and joy! May love and light overcome all! Thank you for sharing, my friend!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Sunny1~
This is absolutely beautiful !
The calm before the storm - is often elusive~
but the calm after the storm is usually beautiful.

That graphic is sooooooo lovely.
It sets the mood for your poem so well.

If not for the storms in our life we may not ever appreciate the calm.  Excellent piece from you and this one truely brings a bit to ponder with it.  You have penned a wonderful poem to reflect on and I am sure it will cause me to do just that.

I know that you love beaches, as I do!! Wouldn't it be nice to just walk along this one after a storm?

Oh, yes, my Brother.....the pensitive poems are my favorites. For if there is no message, what is there to remember?

I knew that you would appreciate the graphics that matched the words, as you have the eye of a true artist!! Thank you!!

You are right, and storms never last......
but the best part is that 'bad times all pass with the wind'....Thank you so much!!

Lady First of Sun,

  I have ridden the storm
  through a reign of hurt
  to have risen above
  to float the clouds
  yet the deafening roar, remains
  to remind of a time
  that must be overcome, and
  someday, it shall...
  'tis your beautiful words
  I read this morn...
