Wings of temerity

We fly within the common stream
Like birds that fly in common team.
From high to low on winds that blow
And sow the things that we should know.

But we have not the sparrows joy
Nor marrows hollow they employ.
But fly in mental subtlety
In vies of subtle scrutiny.

Each rush of air beneath our wings
Uplifts us bare by puppet strings
And we must mask our naked soul
With webs of brass to hide the whole.

Common is not common at all
And ordinary not a call.
We are a gel of many things
A subtle well of many springs.

A species of temerity
With just a breaths sincerity.

I do believe that in a whisper, you just made everyone who reads this feel better about themselves...

quote:
Common is not common at all
                      And ordinary not a call.

And I thank you for this!

You've captured the essence of a human being so well in this wonderful poem

"Each rush of air beneath our wings
Uplifts us bare by puppet strings
And we must mask our naked soul
With webs of brass to hide the whole."

What a verse from the master of poetry.
This kind of writing, however , is something you can't teach. Superb writing
