Tuscany

Aged mellow in oak. Fulsome.
Tender; the calm warm wine.
Drawn deftly, poured butterfly still.
Syruped, in dark claret tones,
splashed weighty and sure.

Your eyes, candlebright prismed;
through velvet liquid. Reflections
shimmered ruby to golden hair.
Burnished tones, sepia shadowed
over ageless hidden walls.

Inexorable through time
To touch, in sense. Always there.
Loving in the melody of silence.
Dozing tranquil, untouched.
Sweetness all incandescent.

And in a while, I came to you; brushed
softly the slumbered Brunello lips;
kissed open your eyes to see, where
so much that's beautiful to me in the world,
is bound up in you.

Then wakened, with soft whispers
to pure sunshine. Garlanded in spring
laughter; bubbling fresh and cool
over round rocks, knowing in age.
Be mine, for then. But ours, forever.

If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

You took me
by the heart
persuasive smile
calling from a thousand years
gentle soulmate, beloved face
save surfer on waves of desire
radiant heat of love
sheltered by Tuscany's heaven
innocent indian summer sun
glissing fata morgana of togetherness
