When Love Grows Apart

When we get married,
        our hearts are but one.
Then over the years,
        we forgot to have fun.

We made a commitment,
        till death do us part.
But then things have happen,
then think we need a new start.

Love can be great,
        and love can be cruel.
But it is time to give up,
when both are stubborn as mules.

Don't make the mistakes,
I have made over the years.
Cause all you will be left with,
is your eyes full of tears.

So my thoughts that i have written,
        is for those who fight.
Please learn to forgive,
        and then grab her tight.

Please let your love grow together,
        and not a part.
And life will be easier,
i say this from the heart.

the one thing that is fatal to a long term relationship is to not make time for a date and fun together. thas what u do when love is new....then u get married and deal with problems problems and it gets dead as a door nail if she is not courted and made to feel special to him. That means never cutting any slack from dating behaviour (both gender) even so there will be rough times to commit and hang in there through. Marriage is not easy.....it's work. I symapthsize with your feelings and emotions that inspired this poem.... take care!
from one who made a lot of mistakes too,

Welcome and thank you for sharing from your heart.  My husband and I just had our 46th wedding anniversary in Oct.  Believe me, it has not all been wedded bliss and I know well what you speak of.  Our biggest triumph is having God in our marriage.  Bless you.  Rae

Serenity

Thank you for the  warm welcome.

Parting ways is a sad thing that we all write about, but sometimes we need to go beyond the thoughts of the sadness to make them happy things.

For out of the sadness in life comes the memories of the happy times. Prayers and time can heal all the things that are broken.

Bernie
