Whisper one more lie
before you walk out the door
leave me here wondering
if you’ll come back for more.

I hid my knowledge from you
perhaps I hope you’ll see
that I will always love you
no matter what you do to me.

I know I am to be pitied
my friends all tell me this
but they can never understand
how I melt at just your kiss.

I’ll wait up for you tonight
and hope there will not be
those telltale signs that you
have lied again to me.

I hope it helps to write at times like this, for sometimes it is all we have. Bless you.

And the hours of waiting are endless... until the wait is over and the lie is confirmed and you wish you could go back to the time of not knowing. *S* Well done!

The hurt goes so deep when faithful love is not returned, yet there's peace in the clear conscience.  Wonderful writing that reaches the depths of tender hearts.  Thanks.  Rae

I'll wish a star to the sky tonight
it won't appear till late
You'll have to squint and look real hard
it could take any shape
In case you miss it
don't despair
it only weighs an ounce
It may not reach a human eye
but it's the thought that counts

I stood at those crossroads myself, many years ago and felt that same way
wishing you all the best

A wonderfully heart-felt and real poem, from someone who appears to be a very feeling and real person. Keep that chin up honey! Hugs to you,

I was fully prepared to write a serious bit of "fatherly" --- but after reading Doreen's reply - - well- you understand -
you may not believe this - but we males allow ourselves to believe lies too -
I guess it comes down to what we want to believe - especially when we fall.

A masterful bit of writing Sharon - Seriously

PdV,

People who this sort of thing are mean and cruel.  Someone should to it to them so they know how it feels to get their hopes up only to have them come crashing down around you.  Nice writing.

*deep sighs* I relate all too well to this, it's funny how a woman will have her mind made up until he melts her with his kiss - I'm sure almost every woman has had this experience. Very well expressed, Sharon!

Take care,
Melissa

I could feel your poem so intensely, I know how your feeling, If they lie once, they will do it again, and again, hurting you over and over, mental abuse! How can you truely love someone like that! someone you can't trust? You can't love them, for without trust, you can't build a relationship out of love!

Great poem!!! Hugs to you !!!if you need a friend, E-mail me!

I think that we often stay here until we find out the unknown is less painful than where we are at....this brings so many things to mind, fantastic writing PDV!
