Kari love, not perfect but some of us work for a living you know love.     And you made me even sweat there, how's that for endeavour

The Gorgon's Tale

Do you know the tale of the Gorgons' drear
They were a frightful trio, something to fear
One look from them and you became quite hard
And we're talking stone here now, not card
But they weren't always such a trio to dread
In fact they were three sister it's been said
They served the Goddess Aphrodite you know
And she had the prettiest maids in her show

One day, this being Greece, it was quite hot
The sisters were cooking something in a pot
When some shepherds came on wandering by
And being nice shepherd lads they said Hi
Now what possessed the girls I haven't a clue
But they ended up offering the lads some stew
Remember this is a world in a simpler time
These shepherds and maids laid it on the line

Before the shepherds had finished eating stew
These lively maidens said Hey lads we like you
Barely have the boys put down their plates
When the girls say Oh damm we're a bit late
And they leap off quickly to do their bit
And the lads to one side go and quietly sit
Well, you know how these rituals do go on
It took ages and that was missing out the song

Anyway I don't know what was in that stew
But pretty soon the lads began to feel phew!
First one then another saw the maidens grin
And you know what lads are like they dived in
But before Aphrodite had time to say stop that
The shepherds had the maidens out to bat
There's nothing very unnatural about this
But this dear reader was not a friendly kiss

Still Aphrodite would've turned aside her eyes
But for this Goddess there was a nasty surprise
In her own temple yet! This trio cavorted
By the lusty shepherds the maids were sorted
One of the maids asked how beautiful am I
Very beautiful said the shepherd with a sigh
More beautiful than who asked the silly maid
And with the answer the sisters fate was laid

More beautiful than anyone alive or even dead
And Aphrodite hearing this went an angry red
You think so she said, not when I'm through
And grabbing a thunderbolt at them she flew
Into hidious creatures the sisters she changed
Their maidenly forms she somehow rearranged
So the Gorgon sisters were once a pretty set
And remember no vanity or retribution you'll get

Mushy,
so the gorgon sisters made some stew
to get compliments, of the boys well what's new!
A woman will cook... always a start
when they're trying to get a man's heart
but I don't understand, why was it a sin?
to be  uplifted and reflected therein
the young men's eyes, looked and they saw
the inner beauty and to it foreswore
ugly they were when smitten by Aphrodite
what became of the boys, where's the equality?

quelle, quelle magnifique.
brilliant love.
write on

Kethry love, I'm sorry I meant to reply to this last night, and didn't now the time is getting on and I still hadn't done it. Thank you sweetie, as ever. I don't know what happened to the lads dear heart, but I do have a theory. I think they fancied a career move, and got the concession on donnor kebabs at the Olympiad.   Either that or they signed on with Odysseus and ended up as little piggy wigs.   (Not a big change there then! )
Take care love

Tracie love, that is so sweet of you love, I'm pleased it came out okay. Now as long as these little angels stop flinging challenges at me, I might be able to put me feet up.
Take care love

Sven love, she is indeed behind it all, she thinks I need to to exercise more. I do but ssssshhhhhh don't tell her so.
She'll have me doing the poetic equivalent of circuit training. Whatever that would be, too awful to contemplate, it means WORK I know.
Take care love and thank you too

Kari love, good grief, you've already been here once, how am I supposed to keep up. That's it, no more Ms Nice Sprite, it's catch Kari unaware time.

Now where did I put my bag of tricks.
They seek her here
       they seek her there
           that dammed elusive
              Marsharell (Marsha didn't rhyme)
Or I could do an impersonation of Mr Mistoffelees the original conjuring cat.
Take care now
