*~Cocktails for Sweethearts*~

Through mist of night she strolls through life
In search of a mind whose soul takes flight
Within the walls of nightclub hues
Bartender Al gives ear to her tune
With a grand marnier chilled in glass of old
She remembers of times not so long ago
And whispers to her friend attending at bar
This world and its pace has gone too far

...Where is the decency and kind embrace
Within the heart of a love's true face
This chill of breeze amid midnight air
From sweethearts fluttering everywhere...

Casting eyes through room with stare
Engaging thoughts of those who dare
Seeking not a love to find
Purely just a challenge of minds
All the while sweethearts nod hello
As bartender Al leans into her form
A gentle hand he does comfort her
With compliments another drink he passes over
While jukebox beats a rhythm of blues
Cocktails for sweethearts are just but a few

Looks like we posted on the same subject. Yours is much better than mine though. I enjoyed the read.

Dani~
You drew the picture my mind was visualizing with your words.
Then you capped it off with just the right graphic !

That's Two-For-Two
Cocktails are on you !

If only the modesty would return a little then maybe the impact of love would once again find a home.  Lovely verse my friend and you have captured the feelings well in your words accompanied by the perfect graphic.
