Crippling the sounds I hear
The echoes of a driving fear
That love is more a fantasy
To counter our reality
Of sounds that ring so full of pain
Screams of silence in the rain
Heard by all yet known by none
Hearts in retreat left on the run

We gamble with this life we lead
In search of things we think we need
To pass beyond this string of doubt
Hear my scream, let out a shout
That I refuse to feel no love
Succumbing to this lifeless dove
Where dreams and hope fade to the back
Makes us aware of all we lack
With all my strength I’ll shine right through
Exposing all I know is true
Compassion,pride and dignity
Only part of all that’s me
Yet I am just re-born.
