On days like these
I watch the day slide
between washer loads
and clothing folds
daydreaming
of something more in
second chances
erotic glances
perhaps over the produce aisle?
adding tuna to grocery lists
and feeding the fish
I can’t help but be bored
with Mr. Clean and the
telephone's ringing
my shinbone's stinging
from the table I hit
running to get the phone
sorry wrong number
and now I lumber
cuz my leg’s throbbing
the dogs are bobbing
they want to go outside
I open the door
stumble some more
as the cat skids inside
and tries to hide
but the chase is on
round the chair
3 tails and lot's of hair
yellin, "get the heck out!"
the colds getting in!
they whack my shin..again
sliding across the floor
to scurry out the door
dogs howling
cat’s a hissing
and I know I’m missing
something….

I love the time
and in between
the calm inside me
in the space
where I can breathe...

Great fun, Breathe~, I needed a laugh.
Best said fast, to keep up with the "cast".

Love the poem.. it has catchy opening lines and keeps you reading.  Easy to relate to as it sound like one of my days with the washer going all the time and the critters always with their great timing.

lol! this sounds like my house. Here's a little advice...
forget the calgon, go for the good stuff. Try something dreamy from Victoria's Secret. You'll love yourself for it. I think you deserve it!
Love your poem,
Deb

Krawdad...I guess it is funny now...cuz it wasn't at the moment...*L*

songbird...It seems I am always tripping over something...*L*

Blooming Rose...didn't mean to leave you out...you must have popped in while I was responding...*g*...It's like this all day at work...just crazy comotion all the time...then I get to come home to the same thing...
I think that is a good idea...lock the bedroom door...and lounge for the rest of the evening in something silky...

I love the time
and in between
the calm inside me
in the space
where I can breathe...
