If I should wake up tomorrow
Let me ease another's sorrow.
May I soon end this selfish phase
And help to better someone's days.
For deep inside, I must confess
I know my life is truly blessed!

There's that sweet man who owns my heart,
Niece and two nephews (bright and smart)
Sister, father, and many friends
All seem to have such confidence
I'm better than I can see me.
This lady's really quite lucky.

Still the lonely comes in a wave
Can't seem to make my mind behave.

*sigh* - i can identify....
great write here, suthern

i once wrote, "I know one thing 'bout loneliness. I know it doesn't care.".... and it's true... it stinks! *sighsighsigh* again... one sighs fits all, i guess, and i've heard sighs don't matter! LOL...

anyway... *sigh*... great write and yes, count your blessings because one of them is that you're a poet!

Suthern~
'Let me ease another's sorrow.'

What a caring statement ~
I'm sure you do just that.

I always enjoy when you write and post.
Thank you for being a poet.

"one sighs fits all" - *G* I've proven that false many times, doreen... but still needed that grin! LOL

Bal: You know darn well there's only one sweet man for this heart... So if he contacts you for hints on getting rid of pests, don't help him! *G*

Mark, Deer, inot2b, hoot, doreen, PDV, Kit & Marge: Thank you all very much... Now... do you think you could take turns talking me through the 3am willies? LOL

My mind will also not behave
don't you just hate the lonliness wave
loved your poem the title too
sorry that you're feeling blue
next time you get caught in regret
surf the waves of internet.

have you been living in me mirror me girlie?
talk about poetic reflections ...
very cool write S, ... love your cadence in this...
if only we could see ourselves thru the eyes of those who love us ...
biased or not ... the view must be better
well done ... perfect poetic impact on those last lines.

suthern - what a striking poem you have done. I felt a lot of different emotions when I read it, and they were all thoughtful ones.

"If I should wake up tomorrow
Let me ease another's sorrow."

Well you do that with every reply and every post so you don't need to worry about that.  Wonderful write as always from you.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow... for on the new server, I can thank people whenever I want to without that niggling little demon shaming me that I'm bumping up my own poem by replying. *G*

dgvarner, Bill, dsnyder, Mark & Martie: Thank you all so very much! *S* I so appreciate your kind comments so very much!

And Mark: Bless you. *S* There are times when I'd rather the "let me NOT wake up" prayer be answered... *S* But since that one's ignored, I'm glad the other plea isn't. *S*
