My Grandpa died a few years before I was born in 1975, and he was very close to my Mom - Laura, and I have always wondered if he's looking down on me from Heaven.  And If he had the chance to speak to me as an angel, what would he say and how would he feel to have me as his grandchild?  My Grandpa was an artist and so that is why "I'll paint you a picture of happiness" is in my poem to honour his talent

~A LETTER FROM HEAVEN~

Dear Grand Daughter,
you will never see my face
or know the warmth of my embrace,
for, I have already left this earth
just mere years before your birth

But, Melissa Phyllis,
please remember this
although upon your sweet cheek, you'll never feel my kiss,
you have a guardian angel in Heaven above
who's looking down on you with pride and much love

It's true that you'll never be with me to hear
all the wisdoms that I'd whisper in your ear,
but, know that my Laurie Dorie will take good care of you
and tell you all the stories of your Grandpa to see you through

Someday, you'll grow to be a woman, fall in love and achieve much
you'll know that I live on through your children's touch
I'll paint you a picture of happiness from a cloud's single tear
to guide you through life, to sweep away any fear

And so, when years upon your face are worn
and you have a grandchild to be born,
only then, my Melissa, will you begin
to know the joy that I feel within

I love you,
Grandpappy Wilf

Not only did you write a tribute to your Grandfather, but one also to the people
who raised you. This was beautiful!

Melissa, a wonderful loving write. There are so many family that is missed and are gone now. I wish I had met them, but I know they live on in the stories and my gene's.
