~Moonbeams~

When the sun fades completely
and the moon shows his face
I marvel at his beauty
I wish for all his grace
~~~
Shining there so brightly
With twinkling friends to guide
My moon friend smiles softly
With a never ending pride
~~~
His presence in the night sky
Fills me with dreamy thoughts
Of love under his soft rays
His moonbeams gently caught
~~~
I think the moon has hired some poets to do moonbeam commercials. Beautifully written!
Nothing like a moonlight stroll with the one we love
Then again, there's nothing like 'anything' when it's with the one we love
Now see what your poem does ... it makes people get all moonstruck
I love to look at the moon, and you managed to catch one of the few delights of looking at the moon!    Nicely done!
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. It flows wonderfully and, being 3am, almost lulled me off to sleep. The moon is such a wonderful thing, and you captured it so well with your eloquent pen. Nighty-night
Rich WOW!!! thanks
thank-you as well Jamie
Jamie this is for you sweetie
*The winking star*
When you wish
Upon a star
Your wish
Will travel very far
Through the clouds
In the darkened sky
Over the moon
Way up high
**
Past millions of stars
winking with glee
For a wish
they long to hear and see
When it reaches
The brightest in the sky
It hears your wish
Sends a reply
**
Watch it closely
You will see
That it winks for you
So happily
For wishes to grant
Hopes to apply
For those who reach out
To the moonlit sky
**
Send your hopes and wishes
To the stars
The most brightest star
Winking by far
She will catch it, bless it
Send it down
To float it's way gently
To the ground
To ride upon your back
As fate
No time, no place
Just hope and faith
**
Thanks Jamie for reading my Moonbeams and I hope all the wishes you send to the winking stars at night come true
sending winged ~HUGS~ to both of you
Don't know why I think of him as a he, always have from a child (maybe that came about because of the story about the man in the moon) I'm not sure...well I'm glad you enjoyed
Tracie,
Lovely poem my friend.  The moon has always fascinated me with his changing phases and shapes.  Sometimes when I look at him in the night sky, I realize that I am really not alone in the world.  He is always there to keep me company every night.  Nice writing.
