Where Are Those

There are those
Who through their own power and drive
Do choose their destiny and purpose
As well as put off all mortal desire.

There are those
Who strive to achieve such reveries;
With concentration so impenitent
That they adjourn every earthly longing.

There are those
Who manage to attain their goals;
And in so doing have invited into their life
Even more corporeal wants than before.

There are those
Who act upon this new-found temptation;
Having done so, they have lost all–
Their purpose and principles destroyed.

But! There are those
Who do refuse these lustful lures,
And do see such a loss beforehand;
In turn, they keep their values with their power!

...If only there were those...

Wonderful write to find this evening.  If only there were many more of those that kept their values.  This was well worth the trip into the forums tonight all on it's own.
