 Memories Of Tomorrow Tonight we begin our memories of tomorrow No longer looking back at yesterday's sorrow Reflecting on the dance that brought us here Captivated in the melodies of new love's cheer Sitting here with your touch resting on my arm I realize the power encased in all of your charm Swirls of mahogany waltz in aromatic illusion Hypnotizing the fears of my heart's confusion Embers of promise glow among forgotten ash Embraced within the flames of eternity's sash Fingerprints of warmth reach heightened peak As blushing roses caress your silkened cheek Flickering shadows frolic on a wall of brick Rejoicing ... knowing we need not go quick Luminance sings upon the depth of our eyes With a chorus wrapped in a ribbon of sighs Tonight we begin our memories of tomorrow No longer looking back at yesterday's sorrow Reflecting on the dance that brought us here Captivated in the melodies of new love's cheer Mark Bohannan [This message has been edited by Mark Bohannan (edited 01-07-2001).] |

Tonight we begin our memories of tomorrow No longer looking back at yesterday's sorrow Reflecting on the dance that brought us here Captivated in the melodies of new love's cheer Sitting here with your touch resting on my arm I realize the power encased in all of your charm Swirls of mahogany waltz in aromatic illusion Hypnotizing the fears of my heart's confusion =================== Flickering shadows frolic on a wall of brick Rejoicing ... knowing we need not go quick ==================== we didnt need a picture to tell us what this one was about, your gift for painting images in our minds that I have admired from the first poem read of yours ... once again beautifully illustrated the romantic scene by fireside. But the imagery comes in second to the anticipation and promise this beautiful poem speaks of. Its perfect MC. The repeating of the verses gave it a melody. "No longer looking back at yesterday's sorrow Reflecting on the dance that brought us here" I think that says it all. Speaks volumes ... but in a soft whispered promise. nothing more needs be said .. from me anyway Am I loved by my words Will my vows weather the tide Bended knees can forsee all the rhythms of life And a heart can be held without pride ~Vante |

Mark, lovely! Romantic! Sweet! It has me contemplating a verse of my own on this theme. It would be a universal one, not tied to a relationship or love. Well, at least I think it would be. My poems often go where I'm not expecting. Thanks for sharing!btw, do you mind if I do? |

Charisma-Thank you my friend. It is easy to pen beauty when the one that inspires it is a beautiful as she is inside and out. Marsha - Looking forward is always where I try to find myself. I may reflect once in awhile, but looking back in regret only wastes time. Thank you my friend. Martie-Big smiles is what you give me my dear friend. Thank you so much.
