Darkness of acceptance had fallen over me
Only illusions of what might be remained
Until our eyes locked...and you set me free
Happiness had been eluded... unattained

In your eyes I found the warmest gold
The color of sunsets across the ocean
Glimmering facets of amber explode
As you set my soul into motion

Within your arms I touched heaven’s gate
Strong and secure, protector from the storm
Within a shelter of warmth you create
A clouded peace took it’s silent form

From your lips fell heat to melt my soul
Like falling stars from ebony skies
A gentle kiss engulfed me...making me whole
Transforming me...as dreams materialize

Falling deeper with each breath I take
Closer to you as each moment passes soundless
Drowning in this euphoric lake
Eternity’s promise is ever boundless

No need to speak...just look in my eyes
As uncertainty fades like rose petal dew
Cover me in the velvet of your sighs
Free falling into golden sunsets with you

If this is a dream...let me dream a moment more
Allow me this walk in the light of illusion
Upon the emotions of completeness...I soar
In your arms I’m free of tormented confusion

Hold me till darkness has nowhere to hide
Until only the rays of sunshine fall like rain
Basking together in the waves of serenity’s tide
Where only Golden Sunset Dreams remain

You knew, dear, you knew...what you would do to me with this piece...and I shall gently place it in my library, where it belongs, for it sings...as do you...

be well my friend...and know that this shall be a golden day...

It seems we both have gold on our minds, but I much prefer dreams to words
This is so romantic and beautiful
Each verse melts like the heat of love

ButterfliesDC~
Such a pretty poem, full of promise.
Lovely are the dreams laced in gold.
A pleasant way to begin the afternoon.
*Hugs* to you, my friend.
