We all are born and then we die
Don't even know the reason why
And that's the lot of all us human beings
But there are times when God, at play,
Will send some special thing our way...
These things are what I call the "in-betweens".

When we are positive for sure
There is no more we can endure
That Life's plan is to treat us cruel and mean
There always seems to come some spark
To help illuminate the dark
And give our lives a needed "in-between".

When those big problems seem to face us
There is always some oasis
Life will always place there in our path.
Can be a lover or a friend
Who we find as a perfect blend
And makes us feel so happy we just laugh!

Our troubles never stop, you know...
One to another....on they go
Our destiny is filled with traps unseen
But, every time things get too hard
God throws us down some small reward..
I thank him kindly for the in-betweens.

Balladeer~
What a perfectly lovely thought~

'But, every time things get too hard
God throws us down some small reward..
I thank him kindly for the in-betweens.'

I'm going to remember this~

You have woven a perfectly penned poetic piece describing the wondrous blessings of, as you've coined it, the 'in-betweens.'  Love this!  May a keep a copy?  May I share with friends?

you have inspired me to write romance poetry... and here it is.....

"you'll never be my in-between...
you pull the ends of all it seems
together with the meaningful
persistance glanced from shine to dull
there is not any in-between
you are my all....
no sights unseen"

well... it's just poetry.....*sigh... wink*
loveyou, baby... this is an awesome write....

An In-Between?  Interesting idea.  Some nice lines here
When those big problems seem to face us
There is always some oasis . . .
and
Our troubles never stop you know...
One to another...on they go

A good poem is an In-Between.

I loved your thoughts in this Michael ... you have a wonderful spark of inspiration illuminated within these words.  You echo thoughts I try to keep close as I'm waiting for my in-betweens to get me through the next round too ... great writing, and thanks for being "you" my friend.

Best wishes,

'Deer,
well I can honestly say you have been an in between for me, an angel unaware, that crosses my day with moments of remember and leaves behind love's fragrance.
write on

I deem it my duty to keep this on page one for awhile for everyone who needs an in-between.  Thank you so much for this and for the wonderful poet and person you are!

Deer~ I'm thanking him for the in-betweens
and you for the oasis of your poetry...this

I sit and marvel at your creative rhyme
You are the king of verse, no doubt
And always a great tale or thought to write about
Excellent again and again

Nice work, Balladeer...Not many people realize the little things in between life's bigger moments.

Can I be your willful breeze,
Come to touch,
Your heart to ease?
