Is it morning, evening, noon
or middle of the night
All I see are your eyes
all I can feel is that caress
I've no sense of time
My motor responses
autonomic
filled with the wonder of you

You're my godhead,
masthead
so filling my heart
All doubt erased
from this bed of dreams
They plunge off
drowned in the sea

No sparkle of stars
exceeds your smile of love
What constellation
have we sailed to

Did I ever believe
the time between
play before
and glow to follow
were the why
when this timeless time
now seems so rich

That now fragile passion
becomes the bridge
to these richer times

How was I blessed
to so discover
the richness of you
in these,
most intimate of times

So I'll kiss you again
if I'm not to know when
take you in my arms
hold you safe from alarms
as your caress boldens
we bridge the next foray
to the closeness we've reached
loving's rich and been breached

Peace we've found with each other
trials all disappear
there will be no fears
until time reappears

Great souls have wills; feeble ones have only wishes.

beautifully written,
especially loved the  verse

You're my godhead,
masthead
so filling my heart
All doubt erased
from this bed of dreams
They plunge off
drowned in the sea

There's a feeling of contentment Now that you are here I feel satisfied I belong
inside Your velvet heaven" Depeche mode

What causes one to open Yeats...
so that a day might be complete...
what causes one to read
and then send thanks by Godspeed...

what causes one to think, and ponder
what causes one to read Yeats, I wonder?

Bill--I love the title...the whole poem is drenched in emotive thought...just lovely!  Especially liked:

Did I ever believe
the time between
play before
and glow to follow
were the why
when this timeless time
now seems so rich

Martie-
Leave it to you to focus on the verse I hoped readers would recognize as most significant to me - Thank you, I treasure your support

GreenEyes-
years ago - you were one of my first readers - I'm truly glad you still are - I'm getting better I think - and I hope you too are well
