I am a woman who listens and learns I wonder what lies under rocks and past fern I hear the sound of rain in a smile I see the negative pause for awhile I want to be strong from the past not be burned I am a woman who listens and learns I pretend confidence with people around I feel life’s meaning is simple-profound I touch the hand of love every day I worry that time doesn’t want me to stay I cry when touched by a meaningful turn I am a woman who listens and learns I understand laughter is what keeps me whole I say that love is a most worthy goal I dream of peace and for people to see I try to be the best I can be I hope to write words where truth is the burn I am a woman who listens and learns |
