I Am

I am the one to give you birth
To validate your place on earth
To tell the tales of who you are
And hold the beams of evening star

I am the one to give you life
And understanding of its strife
To live, to die, to seek what’s true
I am the one who teaches you

I am a giver of delight
In glow of evening’s silver light
To tell of sorrow’s tender trace
I am the one that you embrace

I am the one that you respect
For all around you, I affect
I am the one to comfort you
To rock you in my cradle’s dew

I am the one to give you strength
To venture forth at any length
Providing you with easy means
To seek the bounty of your dreams

I am the place where God still lives
And hold the blessings that He gives
I am the one He chose to be
The rhythms of eternity

You touch me softly on the fringe
You dive to depths of planet’s hinge
You ride the waves on golden sails
Beside the beauty of the whales

I am your friend, your foe, your love
Reflecting moon and stars above
I am the force from which you came
And you have christened me a name

I am The Sea

Elizabeth~

You are so like the sea ~~~
Returning in the motion of poetic waves ~~~
Laying lightly upon the shoreline of our hearts ~~~
Building word-castles in the sands of time~

Beautifully written.
