I AM I am the pen that writes verses Held by the fingers of a poet Words flow through for you to enjoy I am poet I follow your dreams Fill your heart with words describing love My words emit pictures of life from deep within I am poet I tell you about butterflies Roaming freely towards rainbows In enchanted memoirs of melodies rhyming I am poet I often feel your pain Take away your ills, comforting you With words to make you smile again I am poet I bring nature to you, for you to rejuvenate Past losses of tireless dreams Sincerity as strong as waterfalls As gentle as the sounds of canaries I am poet I am truth and hope and love Because I love your exhuberance Your need for my pen to flow To the depths of your mind, telling you That life is worth every moment And most of all you are everything I am poet to you I thank you for being there for me For without you, poet I am not.
