Sail away, true love
don't come back again
dare not try recall in me
a time when we were
more than friends

Sail away, true love
anchor at safe shores
I'm the tempest wind
that blows
don't want to hurt you
anymore

Seas are calm
the waters clear
skies are ever blue
the sun is shining now
my dear
I've learned to live
without you

Sail away, true love
don't hear my siren's song
ignore these tempting
gentle waves
for it wouldn't be too long...

When the tempest winds
would blow
threatening to overtake you
twisting emotions in your heart
stirring guilt & ache in you

so,

Sail away, my true love
don't look this way again
you know deep down inside
somehow
we'll never be more than
good friends

Sail away, true love
sail on,
sail away, true love
sail on...

What a sad song Tier; hopefully a bit of poetic compassion, nothing else?

This is very sad, Tier, but very beautifully penned!

Thank you, Sunshine, Songbird, and Denise, This is really a song that I wrote when I was feeling blue.

Well done, flows wonderfully and has just a touch of sadness, I enjoyed the read very much, well, I actually kind of sang it, really

With the word, I am mighty, with the pen I am free..

*chuckles* Dragonpoet, I'm curious as to what melody you heard as you read or "sang" the words!

I'm glad that you liked it...
