No Tears Today/A Tender Tale

Nothing ever stays the same.
In some ways that is good.
I hadn't been away from home
and thought that night I should.

So dressed myself, in pretty face
  drove down to the mall.
Decided then to movie watch
  and read the choices, all.

It was very late, the only time
that I love to sit in dark.
All alone not crowded yet,
slipped into a row, quite stark.

Before too long the aisles were full
  of people moving in.
I sat and watched those previews,
  impatient for the begin.

Tall and dark and handsome,
  his profile I could see.
His scent was so enticing,
as it drifted slow towards me.

Against the wall, I always sit
no one to left of me.
But on that right, my arm had brushed
  the shoulder of this he.

And twice times more, I seemed to touch,
  by accident of course.
The sparks that flew, lit up the dark
in codes that spoke like morse...

Could almost read them, in the air,
I gasped a time or two.
Wondered what was in his mind,
  as thoughts went surging through

My body, wow...could not sit still,
  I fidgeted in seat.
Waited for the next of touch
to see where it would meet.

Sighing here, and sighing there...
  my hand began it's rest.
Leaned upon what I had thought
  was chair, but must confess.

Tender touch upon a  knee
on legs that reached full length.
Oh my, can't tell the feelings felt
when lost, what was my strength

Of reserve, that I would carry with
  to ward off, such events.
But on this night, I do believe
  this he was heaven sent.

Pretending not to notice me
  we watched the movie's end.
And waited for the lights to rise
  for others to descend

To exits that were next to us
  leaving just we two.
Turned until the eyes of his
  looked into mine, gray blue.

With arms of touch and legs to rest
  against each others will,
everything that moment light
  began it's time of still.

Lingering, afraid to move
  to end this brief affair,
Eyes to eyes, addressed each face,
  until he broke the stare.

Leaned close to me, with lips caress
  he placed them upon mine.
Tenderly, allowed the press
   and how he could define

The movie seen, but barely watched
  What Women Want, no tears
Were shed on this one special eve,
  a moments loss, of fears.

He read my mind, had felt my need
and reached out for my hand.
Gently brought it to his lips
  this stranger, brought to stand

Pulling me then to my feet,
  arms he would surround.
Shared the warmest hug to lift
  my spirits off the ground....

In silent words, we walked through doors,
  I've never seen him since.
But on this night of loneliness,
  he was my "Shining Prince".

It was a "tease" E...I  even titled it to catch a read or two..but it was all ~Victoria's fault...I liked her Silver Spurs  so much I thought I would add a tale of my own...*s..don't believe everything you read...or at least not most of it

I was afraid this was going to be about that shop that taunts me at every mall... one of the major reasons I avoid malls for I'm not sure I'd fit in the STORE, much less their merchandise! LOL But I'm glad I opened it anyway (have to be brave, yanno... can't let a bunch of lingerie calling "nyah, nyah" keep me from a good poem! *G*) for this is a great tale!!! Well done!

Lucky you went to see "what a woman wants" instead of "Home alone" bad joke, sorry. but seriously, a beautifully written poem.
