Forever finite

I hang by a silver thread
Over the abyss of why.
By an aging fear and dread
That I'll never learn to fly.

I rage in my space of time
Holding by the grace of age
Tolling of the final chime
Turning of another page.

But it does no good to rage
For the curtain will drop, while
Sands of time will sow their gage
And the play has played the wile.

It means I will never fly
That in truth had been my goal
Haunt affinities as I
Fathom depths of my sweet soul.

So once again will come the night
Forever finite in its flight.

It isn't the flight
That's left us sighing
For your brilliant insight -
It's more the trying.
The limits that bind
And cause your rages
Set you free to find
A voice for the ages.

In other words... we love you just the way you are. *S* Well done!

infinity's dreams
sigh high on beams
never what he seems
casting about for finite means

engage the rage of sage!
held high in might of age
and in the gauge be assuaged
of goals from souls engaged

love your silver threads!  Hugs...

have no doubts ... quiet those fears
calm the rage ... shed no tears
find your grace ... in infinities goal ...
quiet comfort ... for your sweet soul

silver threads ... words of spun gold
wisdom spoken ... to have and to hold
forever finite ... a poets words never die
by your poetry ... you learned to fly

winds of change ... sands of time
find your wings ... within your rhyme
dread not ... the return of night
trust me baby ... you've already taken flight

********

do you see how you evoke emotion and inspire us??
now ...
tell me again ... how you never learned to fly.

Am I loved by my words
Will my vows weather the tide
Bended knees can forsee
all the rhythms of life
And a heart can be held without pride
