She hides housed behind crystal walls
Walls she crafted with such care
    Decorated with crystal balls
Sunlight catches, she has a flair

She flirts, teases those seeking bliss
A glimpse of thigh, a smile beguiles
Like sleeping beauty, they want to kiss
She taunts with sin words, they're her wiles

She wants charming prince to free her
To break down walls and for her be
One, from her prison who can lure
Her out to fresh air she can see

The walls are strong, they're of her making
And only she can do the breaking

Great souls have wills; feeble ones have only wishes.

Very true Bill and very well expressed here! You get your points across well! I haven't found a wall yet that I can break....but I'm alive with love when she breaks it and lets me in......good stuff!!

Excellent piece here sir.  But you knew that anyway didn't you?  You have spoken so eloquently the truth behind finding the spirit and joy of life again.  In the end, the one who builds the walls around the heart must be the one to take them down.

Wilfred, I sooo love this.
"The walls are strong they're of her making
and only she can do the breaking"

Crystal walls we all can build
for the soil that we have tilled
some build crystal some build stone
some build to see, yet be alone
some build with hope of rescue clear
some still wait behing walls drear
some remove a brick now and then
so they may view the world again
but quick retreat to hide behind
the walls they've built within their mind
the answer Wil, you gave the key
in your write of poetry
the walls are strong they're of our making
and only we can do the breaking.

wow..those are some powerful lines there..truth is more powerful than anything else.. and its true that the builder of such a wall is the only one who can decide when the wall comes down..

wonderful write..

How true your words are...the two closing lines are phenomenal.  Wonderful poetry!
