Ten Thousand Miles From Home

I could never explain what I had read.
I spent my time walking away,
I'm ten thousand miles from home today.
*
I played a safe distance and
again I left behind and I was eager!
This time I was much more eager than before.
I set my back against the door and
searched for fallen seeds, scattered there
in fields, struggling with my absence.
*
Winter crept right unto bits,
sugar coated what seething wounds revealed
and silenced songs in secret slanted light.
*
I arrived so fast - so beautifully,
ready to shed, hungry for breath,
life in trails around,...
I was nowhere to be found.
Ten thousand miles from home.
*
I never meant to comprehend all that I was given.
I only meant to find some pieces lost, once had.
I could taste the seasons drawing life,
devouring what stale remains surround.
I should have shined for them,
for them and me,
for them
and me
and
me
.

You are shining brighter and brighter with each poem, excellent writing.

It's in your eyes a fire that's wild and glorious
Unhibited, unfinished in everything I do Let the morning rise like our hearts desire" whipping boy
