Oh-One-Oh-One-Oh-One

"Oh-One-Oh-One-Oh-One
I’m feeling really dumb
Can’t count as high
as Lawrence Welk
I wonder what kind am I
I wonder what fair ilk."

A new year’s come
it’s sauntered in
as gently as a lamb
I wonder what its days may hold
I wonder who I am.

A new millennium’s come today
to stay a thousand years;
I wonder if all will remain
or end in silent tears.

Some think a dawning of
a new heaven, a new earth,
is soon to be upon us,
a whole and lovely birth.

Since calendar’s are
contrived by men
and not exactly true
to the birth of One fair Savior
of him and me and you,

It’s hard to know the hour,
the day, or the night,
when it shall unfold,
tender or bold,
and the saved
shall take their flight.

Will lightning blast,
as fireworks,
in a crimson and gray sky;
or will the Lamb,
in lion’s power,
roar out the battle cry?

What e’er might be,
what e’er may come
in silence or aloud,
in magnificence,
shall each one see,
the raising of His shroud.

For when He comes
to bring us home,
our tears will cease to flow
as each one’s robed
in glistening;
and each face is well aglow.
