Ten Minutes to Los Angeles

Thinking about a special woman
and the happiness I feel
while in her arms.
I find myself smiling
even thou she's two thousand miles away.
Still she is close to my thoughts
and touching my heart especially today.
Sure am missing her presence
and the essence of her personality.
She brings joy into my life
and keeps me company.

Only a few hours have passed
since I left in the middle
of a warm Hawaiian day
and in just ten short minutes
my plane will be landing in L.A.
And I sure miss the palm trees
swaying in the breeze.
I miss those silky trade winds
that put my soul at ease.
I miss the tropical waves rolling in
and surfing and diving with my friends.
I miss taking a tan on beaches carpeted
in white sand.
And the special woman that exceeds all my misses?
Jackie of course and every one
of her sweet kisses.

Beautiful work! Just a short time away can soon start one missing all the most important things and make you want to sing a song about the meaning of love and closeness...this had such a beautiful flow to it...I went with you and I thank you for the words....ethome

Thank you so much for your wonderful responses...Startime, Denise, snow and ethome. I wrote this while flying from Honolulu to Los Angeles...rough draft...and finished it up in Long Beach. I'm back in Hawaii now enjoying the new year...James

Thank you so much Victoria and Charisma...yes Victoria I finally know how you feel...for it took me a long time to miss Hawaii...but this last trip to California I found myself missing it terribly and so I am very happy to be back...James
