Between a laugh and a tear...

Close your eyes,
Please! Tell me what it is you see?
Do you see the lovers walking hand in hand?
Is it just a distant dream viewed through clouded eyes?
Or lost memories that brings that gentle smile?
Savored moments from times thought past?
Or gentle thoughts of loving touch?

Tell me!

When you close your eyes,

Do you see me?

My husband said, "I better not be seeing you when I shut my eyes." I do enjoy your poetry, though.

This is very refreshing to read.  Many times I've noticed people close their eyes and I wonder what they are dreaming of.  Thank you for this one.

*sigh* with the sweetness of the words you write it is easy to close my eyes and see an eagle soaring high and free. Much love and a New Years kiss from me to you

Love I leave with you my friend whether it be in your life or of yet the essense of your dreams.

Eddie, this one is beautiful.  I know when I close my eyes my love is the one I see, and how can we help but wonder if they see love the same as oneself does.  Well done.

This is beautiful. There will be a lot of closed eyes and smiles the New Years.  Wonder what they will "see"?

I closed my eyes...and saw him. Piercing eyes of kindness...soft smile beneath a moustache...a dimple...and felt his breath as he said "I need to thank EagleOne someday for making you see me!"...thanks!

Very nice read indeed sir.  Closing the eyes can bring many things and allow us to escape the world even if for just a brief moment.  Happy New Year to you.  I know you have already celebrated there so I am sorry that I am late in the wishes.

an urgent whisper in candlelight..thats what i feel when i read this...

i've often wondered the same sort of wonder..sometimes with love..sometimes with friendship--those 'long lost' friends; i sometimes wonder "when you see the same moon that i now look upon, do you ever think of me.."

hmm..thoughtful poem eagle..i like thoughtful poems..

happy new year..

**closing my eyes** this is what I see....

Falling stars that call to be wished on
Silver moon beams that beg to be danced upon
Sunlit meadows that ache to be run through
Rose sunrises that sing to be gazed into

Winter nights that tremble to be held near
Rainy afternoons that beckon without fear
Angels with wings of gold that cannot fly
And best of all...I see friends that never say goodbye

Thank you my dear friend....I do so love to close my eyes and gaze into the darkness and see the light of inspiration for what I cherish most. Excellent writing dear poet...as always your poetry speaks to me softly~
