You and the Fire
By Richard Maxfield
7-13-2000

By the glowing camp fire
You by my side
Times and love we share
No secrets do we hide

These times I spend with you
Nothing could ever replace
Holding you close to me
Tenderly kissing your face

Under the star light twinkle
We kiss and hold so tight
We shall all our dreams
Love through out the night

To the sound of crooking frogs
Offer your soft world to me
With no one here on earth
I had rather be

You are my love so true
My daily bite of bread
Knowing what each is thinking
Yet no words are said

Come into my arms
Together we love as one
Bright sunrise we’ll see

As the firelight crackles
Embers slowly fade
Making love with you
Heaven I’ve finally made

Beautiful poem Richard! You never cease to amaze me, and I am not suprised, for you are the King of Romance! Thank you for sharing, my friend, and congratulations on your Poet Of The Day award!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
