I have a guardian angel that is getting quite old
She can't be renewed until after I need her no more
When I was a babe within her wings she would enfold
But now its getting harder with age, thats for sure

Her halo was a beauty to behold
So shiney and at that perfect angle
Now its a mite dented & droopy & dull
No easy task, being my guardian angel

Her face was so radiant and smooth as a baby
Now she has wrinkles and the shine is within
Her hair was golden ringlets the envy of any lady
Today its gray. Its styled? It might have been.

Her wings were soft when she held me
Not many feathers now and hard to fold
Her lithe body so slim and agile
Has added pounds and creaks in the cold

Her hands so soft and smooth
Now callused from helping me up
My poor dear takes longer to move
Its a good thing, I too am slowing up

It is just nice just knowing that the angel is keeping pace and not moving on.  My angel has a hitch in his get-a-long also but at least I KNOW that he is still there.  Wonderful write Mother Earth.  Now don't forget to count all those angels that you brought into the world either.  I know you wouldn't and couldn't and that too is a  very good reason to celebrate.

Mark made a good point...at least you know your angel is there. We all need someone to help us out and watch over us. The world is too difficult to handle completely alone. (I should try practicing what I preach. lol) Anyway, excellent poem Mother Earth.

Thank you, Mark, and I tried to pick out angels with long legs for all my "angels".

D.E.:  It was a MUST when I came into the world! I think I may have worn a couple out!  I am glad there were some left over for others to have.
  Thanks,  ME

As Sven has said, where would we be without our angels! This is another excellent write from your pen! Take care!

yes angels grow with us, but they are always there, and keep a part of eternally youthful. Really enjoyed the poem.

Sven:I really think I just broke her in.  Thank you for reading

EagleOne: I'm afraid to look, but may have more than one angel.  Thanks for the kind words

Startime: I would like everyone to "see" & know their angel.  Hugs for you too

brian madden: My poor angel won't be able to move by the time I let her go, but we will plug along 'til then.  Glad you liked it.

Janet Marie: Have you wondered how a bumble bee flies? My angel is built like her! Love and hugs.

(sigh) Oh MotherEarth, this was filled with such beauty and pure love for your dear angel (sigh). Yes, we grow, but the magic of angels will forever flourish in our hearts. Thank you for sharing, my friend!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Mom* You are weaving with a golden ink well
these days...it's so wonderful to see!! I'm
very glad that one of us can weave these
days...mine aren't fit for the backs of
placemats.. I loved your ideas in this one
and although my angel hasn't been around as
long as yours....she's already requesting
time off and threatening to call the labor
board for excessive overtime...lol  Love you
my mom!!

Ok, my Butterfly, just tell your angel ( which I picked out for you ) to call my angel and get re-schooled!  I will never be able to express myself as well as you, but I will keep trying, thanks to you. Keep your head up and wear "teflon".  Love and hugs, Mom
