A Season Of The Heart

Changes are all around us, times motion swirls it all about you and me
For it is inevitable, everything changes and alters, it happens constantly
If you drop a stone into the river where will this stone eventually go
For it won't rest on the bottom, the river will move it, this you know
Time moves ever onward it doesn't, it cannot stay forever the same
Just like the flame flickers, time moves in flashes like that flaring flame
My heart is like the fire it burns fiercely before it softly warmly glows
And just like the burning embers it is much hotter than it apparently shows

Look around at the frozen landscape it lies beneath a blanket of icy snow
But under the pristine covers Mother Nature continues to quietly grow
The grass is lying sleepily awaiting the spring when it will become lush
My love is similar it will await your thaw, until then I won't try to rush
Everything has its season, its own time to bear friut, its place in the sun
And when your heart and soul are ready then that will be our time begun
There's no necessity to hurry nothing will change the pace of our time
When that time arrives then we will both have the reasons to our rhyme

To wait forever is not my hope or dream, for I don't think that's my destiny
I believe, that you are the bright future that love has in store for me
And when the season of you and I has arrived and we fly in united bliss
I will recall secretly that I felt it all in that our first friendly kiss
I knew it from the first as my soul spoke secrets to your battered heart
I could see it within your eyes as they begged me not to tear you apart
My heart will be your sanctuary I will be there soothing your pain away
I will be there waiting, willing to help and I'll love you forever and a day

Marsha

Only one other post? Geeze, people are really missing out. It's just absolutely beautiful. I love it...you've said so well the emotions that I've been toying with for quite some time. Great! One more person to be envious of...lol..joking. (Sorta)

Kit love, thank you so muchly, I wasn't sure but I'll take your word for it, I thought it wandered a little. But I'd never post in C A, unlike Kari, I'm not brave enough.

Dark Enchantress, Oh no love there's no need whatsoever to be envious of me. If you seek inspiration there's so many more for more talented poets around here. I do thank you though, very much.

Kari love, Oh you are so sweet. I sent you and E today, I forgot it was Saturday. I know I couldn't think my way out of a paper bag. It was to wish you a Happy New Year and to say sorry for not being here yesterday. Just a few problems but worry not I'll be fine. And I will get to yesterday's and those others I've missed, I promise.
Take care

Paula love, and have you moved in properly love. I hope it was too traumatic. I had to relocate our office last year and I ended herding the team up the corridor like blooming sheep. They weren't the MBOOPAS, this lot were really stupid. Except it makes me wonder because they have all left the hospital and I'm still there.
Anyway thank sweetie, take care
and a Happy New Year
love to you too
